Mental Health Provision at Hasland Junior School
Here at Hasland Junior School, the positive Mental Health of all members of our school community underpins our ethos and values.
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps to determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
Positive mental health allows people to:
- Realize their full potential
- Cope with the stresses of life
- Work productively
- Make meaningful contributions to their community
As a consequence, positive mental health links directly to everything we do in school and is at the heart of any planning and decision making. We take a ‘Whole School Approach’ to Mental Health and enjoy working alongside colleagues from Derbyshire County Council to ensure that our provision offers the best possible opportunities and support for all stakeholders.
