The development of Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural (SMSC) values lies at the very heart of all we do. We firmly believe that nurturing these essential qualities should be an integral part of our curriculum. At Hasland Junior School, SMSC enhances the children’s education by being carefully woven into their learning . Each subject area incorporates elements of SMSC, encouraging pupils to explore their beliefs, make responsible decisions, and engage positively with their peers and the wider community. Through a wide range of activities, discussions, and collaborative work, students are inspired to appreciate different cultures and perspectives, fostering respect and understanding.
In addition, Our STARS Values help us all to think about the people we aspire to be by Showing good manners, Tackling things as a Team, Are kind and friendly, Respecting others and taking Responsibility, Smiling and having fun (See Behaviour Policy for additional information on STARS and rewards).
