Art
At Hasland Junior School we believe the purpose of Art and Design is to give pupils the skills, concepts and knowledge necessary for them to express their responses to ideas presented to them in a visual or tactile form. Children will be given the vocabulary and the opportunity to communicate what they see, feel and think through the use of colour, texture, form, pattern and different materials and processes. While it is essentially a practical subject, art should provide opportunities for reflection and, with increasing sensitivity, pupils should acquire the ability to make informed, critical responses of their own work and that of others.
